No survivors in plane crash southeast of Abilene

Plane was en route to Harlingen

An early morning plane crash killed three passengers on Thursday morning. The small plane took off from Abilene Regional Airport before dawn. The crash happened at around 6 a.m. near Lake Coleman in Coleman County, southeast of Abilene, near the Callahan County Line. The plane had been flying for only 23 minutes en route to Harlingen when the crash occurred.
The Department of Public Safety was notified of a missing flight and potential crash when the plane disappeared from radar. First responders from multiple agencies made it to the crash site at around 9:30 a.m. after a search for the missing aircraft was initiated. The plane, a Beechcraft King Air BE 200 with the tail number N860J had 3 people onboard. There were no survivors.
