Sweetwater begins state 7-on-7 play with three pool games this afternoon at the Division II tournament in College Station.
The games at 1, 3 and 5 p.m. will determine Friday’s bracket pairings. A top-two finish will put the Mustangs in the championship bracket for the fourth year in a row and give them a title shot; a bottom-two finish puts them in the consolation bracket. Argyle, West and Hitchcock are in the pool with Sweetwater. Brac-ket play starts at 8 or 9 a.m. Friday, depending on which bracket Sweetwater is in.
Andrews, Brownwood, Graham, Levelland, Pecos, Stephenville, Sonora and Abilene Wylie are among the other area schools in the Division II bracket with Sweetwater. The Mustangs will play West at 1 p.m. today, then Argyle at 3 p.m. and Hitchcock at 5 p.m. at the Veterans Park and Athletic Complex.
