Law enforcement to get rifle resistant body armor; Indigent Defense Grant Program approved

The Nolan County Commissioner’s Court held their regular meeting on Monday, November 13 at 9:00 a.m., in the County Courthouse.
Among the items on the packed agenda, the Commissioner’s Court approved the resolution for the Indigent Defense Grant Program. This is a yearly program.
The Commission also approved a road crossing agreement. The motion carried unanimously.
The Worker’s Compensation insurance renewal was approved as well.
The minutes from October 23rd & 30th regular and special meetings were discussed and approved. A minor mistake in the budget was corrected as there was a nine cent difference in the court reporter’s salary erroneously listed in the 2017-2018 budget.
There was a request from Multi County Court At Law to pay an invoice regarding business cards. This is to come out of the office supply budget.
It was mentioned that the policy is that only business cards are paid for out the office supply budget and the motion was approved.
The Commissioners considered and approved of a bond for Sharla Keith. This was approved.
The Court then considered and approved for Adult Probation to purchase a new desk. The line item proposed was $1500.
The Commissioner’s Court passed the resolution for Rifle-Resistant Body Armor project for the Fiscal year of 2018. The application to buy vests will now be submitted.
The discussion of a counsel pending lawsuit led to a closed session. No decision was made.
When the Commission reconvened into regular session, they passed the motion to canvass votes for the General Election held on November 7, receive reports from department heads. These were the Wildlife Department, Your Way, Nolan County Coliseum, Welfare Department as well as the County Auditor and County Treasurer report for October.
