BAIRD — It required just two quarters to erase 23 years of frustration Friday as Blackwell’s football team moved into the third, or state quarterfinal round, of the playoffs with a 46-0 win over Throckmorton.
Now Blackwell has to figure out a way to knock off a Jayton team that ended their run last season.
Michael Lowry threw for two TDs and ran for a third, while Cameron Coldiron added a pair of rushing TDs to lead the Hornets into the quarterfinals. Lowry was 5-of-7 passing for 57 yards and Coldiron ran for 97 yards before the game was halted by the 45-point mercy rule at halftime.
