Governor Abbott to Allow Shelter-In-Place to Expire Thursday, Restaurants, Malls, Retail Stores Can Reopen Friday


In a news conference on Monday. Governor Abbott has announced that he will allow for the expiration of the stay at home executive order on Thursday, April 30. This is the start of his plan to implement the phase out such measures as social distancing, a move that was put in place to mitigate the coronavirus.
“Opening in Texas must occur in stages,” Abbott said. “Obviously, not all businesses can open all at once on May 1.”
