Sweetwater Firemen battled an early morning blaze at a residence on Yucca Lane South of Sweetwater this morning. The fire became so intense at one point that the firemen had pull their resources and back away and let the structure burn itself out.
The fire started sometime before 7 a.m. at the residence and was well under way when the first fire trucks reached the scene minutes later. Flames could be observed burning through the roof as the emergency crews arrived.
According to Fire Chief Grant Madden, no one was home at the time of the fire as the owner had left for work a few hours prior.
The cause of the fire is not immediately known and is currently under investigation.
