Driver Killed in Single Vehicle Crash

A driver was killed when he lost control of his vehicle on a rain-slicked road.  Bryce Mikal McClerkin, 24, of Arlington was driving west on IH-20 on Monday at 2:04 p.m. when he lost control of his 2007 GMC pick up truck while attempting to pass another vehicle on the wet road. The truck slid and struck a guard rail and sign.  The vehicle then rolled over and the McClerkin was ejected. The accident happened 1.6 miles east of Putnam in Callahan County. McClerkin was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident and was pronounced dead at the scene. His body was take to Abilene Professional Services.
The accident is currently under investigation.
