The City Council of the City of Sweetwater met in regular session on Tuesday at 9 a.m. in the City Council Chambers of the City Hall, 200 E. 4th Street, Sweetwater.
Pastor Daniel Norton of the Lamar Street Baptist Church gave the invocation. “Lord Jesus, we thank you so much for this morning. I thank you for these elected officials we have before us and for everyone who is here concerned with the business of the City Council. I pray that you will fill this meeting with wisdom and discernment. I pray that you would help us to do the work that is set out before us for this City, God. I pray all of these things in your name. Amen.”
Council member Jerod Peek led the meeting in Pledges of Allegiance to the Flags of the United States of America and the State of Texas.
The City Council opened the meeting with an invocation and interestingly enough, a Public Comments portion. City Council approved minutes for meeting held on August 13, 2019.
