Blackwell improves to 6-0 with win

Blackwell has scored a lot of points this season. And after scoring a season-low total in a 40-21 win vs. Moran, the Hornets on Friday improved to 6-0 with a season-high total in a 77-38 victory over Veribest.
Blackwell has now equalled its win total from 2016 when the Hornets went 6-4, with four games left.
Blackwell led all the way vs. Veribest, taking a 44-14 halftime lead. In the third quarter, Blackwell built its lead to 52-14 on a 2-yard run by Brandon Brinkman and threatened to end the game by the 45-point rule, but Veribest (4-2) hung in after that, forcing Blackwell to play all four quarters.
Cameron Coldiron rushed for 243 yards and had two catches for 28 yards; Brinkman was 10-of-16 passing for 165 yards and ran for 41 yards; Hunter Clark caught four passes for 71 yards and ran for 108 yards; and Junior Guia had five PATs and two 1-yard TD runs. Brinkman also ran for two TDs and Clark, Coldiron and Nathaniel Shipman one. Brinkman threw two TD passes to Clark and one each to Coldiron and Orrin Sirmons. Also, Michael Lowry had three catches and threw a PAT to Coldiron. Coldiron had a team-high 11 tackles and one interception; Lowry had 10 tackles; Guia had nine tackles; Devin Clower had eight tackles; Shipman had seven tackles; Clark had six tackles; and Hunter Perry and Brinkman had four tackles.Clark’s 108 yards rushing came on just four attempts.
