Blackwell girls win title at Miles tourney

MILES — Blackwell ended a flawless run Saturday at Miles’ basketball tournament with a 45-38 win over Grady in the girls championship game.
Kiley Cummings had 11 points and Emilee Sanderson 10 — plus 14 rebounds — to lead Blackwell, which led 19-16 at halftime. Darrian Kenney had eight, Madison Solis six, Jadyn Feitshans five, Vickie Davis and Cirstyn Gober two and Carli Powers one.
Blackwell (10-3) began the tournament Thursday by beating Early’s junior varsity 58-14 and defeated Grape Creek 56-17 to reach the title game.
Sanderson had 13 points and 13 rebounds and Cummings had nine points in the win over Early’s JV, while Davis had eight, Gober and Feitshans six, Kenney five, Solis four, Elizabeth Meyer three, Jordan Jones two and Powers and Caitlin Lange one.
Cummings had 12 points vs. Grape Creek while Sanderson scored 11 points, Gober 10, Kenney seven, Powers six, Solis four, Feitshans three, Lange two and Davis one.
