Sweetwater’s two golf teams failed to advance to regionals after completing their district tournaments, as the girls placed third and the boys fifth in the final standings.
In addition, Sweetwater had no individual girls or boys players who advanced to regional competition.
Sweetwater’s boys shot 343 on Tuesday for a 1,030 total during Tuesday’s final district leg at Monahans.
The girls carded a 375 on Monday during their final leg at Midland to finish with a 1,134 total for 54 holes.
Monahans and Snyder shot 1,010 for the two girls regional berths, with Mon-ahans taking the top spot. Big Spring (905) and Wylie (917) claimed the two boys regional berths followed by Snyder No. 1, Snyder No. 2 and Sweetwater, whose team included Michael Hunt (84-241), Mason Andrews (85-241), Michael Hazard (78-249), Mark Lawrence (96-299) and Jeremy Witt (109-320). Sweetwater’s No. 2 boys team shot 1,372 to place 12th and included Blake Cumbie (93-318), Colton Scott (112-343), Clay Kitchens (101-346) and Creed Kinsey (115-365).
For the girls No. 1 team, Elise Lawrence shot 84-269, Amy Witt 99-281, Alexis Castillo 95-283, Kala Wofford 98-302 and Corynn Martin 98-307. The No. 2 team shot 1,262 as Sierra Hernandez shot 101-298; Alaina Andrews, 103-303; Bailey Bernal, 108-322; Payton Moore, 110-339; and Angelica Collier, 121-365. Gabby Reyes (119), Jasmine Reddic (129) and Caitlyn Slaton (134) were medalists for Sweetwater.
