Trent — Ruby Faye “Poopie” Sipe, 81, died Friday, Feb. 22, 2013 in Abilene. A celebration of her life will be at 10 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 25, at the Trent First Baptist Church. Burial will be in the Trent Cemetery, directed by Starbuck Funeral Home. Visitation was from 4-6 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.
Poopie was born July 31, 1931, in Sweetwater to Aubrey Coleman and Johnnie Odie (Chappell) Heatly. She graduated from Trent High School in 1949 and was a member of the Trent First Baptist Church. Poopie was a self-employed beautician at the Country Boutique from 1983 to 2006. She lived a life of service to others working in cotton fields, sewing factories and school lunch rooms. She also did sewing and ironing for the public. Her hobbies included sewing, cooking and playing games.
Survivors include two daughters, Cresta Mitchell and husband Eddie of Sweetwater and Rebecca Copeland and husband Mark of Trent; son, Mac Sipe and wife Cindy of Merkel; five sisters, Joy Dean McElmurray, Nelda Hobbs and husband Jim and Sherry Fellers all of Trent, Grace Bright and husband James of Abilene and Emma Lois Watson of Merkel; two brothers, Jerry Heatley and wife Nancy of Big Spring and Kenneth Heatly and wife Janie of Abilene; grandchildren, Brian Mitchell, Courtney Shelton and husband Brian, Britt Sipe and wife Buffy, Chad Sipe and wife Shay, Ashlei Adams and husband Sloan, Chance Copeland and wife Stepheanie, Chelsea Miller and husband James and Sarah Copeland; and 11 great-grandchildren and one on the way.
She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers; and two sisters.
