The two girls basketball teams from Nolan County in District 13-A, Division II are both 2-0 after winning their games Tuesday.
Highland (19-3 overall) crushed Ira 77-21, while Roscoe (13-8 overall) beat Westbrook 31-19.
Two players — Sierra Allen (29) and Beth Rich-burg (24) — combined for 53 of Highland’s 77 points against Ira. Also scoring were Morgan Monroe with seven, Kaylee Martin with five, Lora Stewart and Sydny Helbert with three and Hannah Allen, Madison Moseley and Schyler Kim-brell with two.
Roscoe, meanwhile, won a defensive battle against Westbrook as Shelby Brown had nine points, Faith Boren eight, Eva Aguayo six and Torrey Willman and Carolina Perez four each.
Roscoe will host High-land next Tuesday.
Blackwell’s girls and boys both lost games on Tuesday in District 14-A, Division II vs. Bronte. The girls (0-5) fell 68-20 while the boys (1-3) lost their game 54-30.
Mason Magness poured in 13 points to pace the boys in their contest. Also scoring points for the Hornets were Jayden Jones with eight, Wade Allen with six and Franck Cano with three.
Hailey Bennett scored 10, Stephanie Metcalf nine and Leonor Castelo one for the Blackwell girls.
The Roscoe and Highland boys will join the girls in District 13-A, Division II action this Friday. Highland will travel to Loraine while Roscoe pays a visit to Ira.
