FORT WORTH — Kenneth D. Talbot, 81, passed away Sunday, May 19, 2013 at his home in Fort Worth.
Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. on Saturday at Newman Cemetery in Sweetwater.
Survivors include his wife, Gene Talbot of Fort Worth; sons, Danny Talbot of Azle and Michael Talbot of Fort Worth; grandchildren, Joe Don Talbot and Alisha Weatherford, both of Fort Worth; three great-grandchildren; sister, Vera Holloman of Sweetwater; brothers, Billy Ray Talbot of Sweetwater, Mike Talbot of Arlington and Olen Talbot of Vernon.
Arrangements are with Lucas Funeral Home in Hurst.

Holy Mass of Christian Burial for Carlos Xavier Alvarado, Sr., 63, of Sweetwater, will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 23, 2013, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church.
A Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. on Wednesday May 22, 2013, at McCoy Funeral Home.
Alvarado died Sunday, May 19, 2013, in Abilene.

Funeral services for Kenneth “K.C.” Norman, 71, of Sweetwater, will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 25, 2013, at McCoy Chapel of Memories. Interment will follow at Sweetwater Cemetery under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home.
Norman died Sunday, May 12, 2013, at University Medical Center in Lubbock.

Troey Daffern

Ret. Lt. Col. Troey Daffern, U.S.A.F., 90, of Spokane, Wash., our beloved hero passed away peacefully and became our guardian angel on May 9, 2013.
He was a loving and dedicated husband of over 64 years, father, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend to all he met. He will be deeply missed by all those who knew him.
Troey was a New Year’s Baby — born Jan. 1, 1923 in Rotan, Texas. On May 24, 1944, Troey married the love of his life and high school sweetheart, Wilda Browning. In 1946 they welcomed their first child Russ, then in 1948 their daughter Sue.

Emily Beene Jones

Emily Beene Jones, 69, of Rowlett (formerly of Roby) passed away March 9, 2013, and was cremated.
A memorial service will be held 4 p.m. Saturday, May 18, at Trinity Baptist Church with Rev. Ward Hayes officiating.
Emily was born Oct. 24, 1943 in Lockney, Texas to Foy and Paulene Beene. She was raised in Roby most of her childhood, where her father was a cotton farmer, graduating from Roby High School. She was a past member of First Baptist Church in Roby.
Emily worked for the Meadows Foundation in Dallas for over 30 years, retiring as executive vice president.

Billy Joe Craver, 79, of Sweetwater (formerly of Rotan) passed away on Monday, May 13, 2013 at Sweetwater Healthcare Center.
His request was to have his body donated for medical research. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, May 16, 2013 at Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home Chapel with Ray Browning officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.

ROBY — Louise (Harris) Curlee, 86, passed away Monday, May 13, 2013 at an Abilene hospital. Services will be at 2 p.m. on Thursday, May 16, 2013, at the First United Methodist Church in Roby with burial to follow at Roby Cemetery under the direction of Weathersbee-Ray Funeral Home. Visitation will be Wednesday from 6-7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Emma Lou Clopton, age 75, of Roscoe, passed away on Thursday, May 9, 2013 at her residence.
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, May 13, 2013 at Kuykendall Cemetery in Cherokee, Texas. Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.
Emma was born on Sept. 5, 1937, in Austin, Texas to Ira Elton and Letha Mae (Smith) McCown. She married James Clopton on June 2, 1952. She was a homemaker and a Baptist.
