Spunky Annie musical heading to Civic Center

Leapin' Lizards! The world's best-loved musical "Annie" returns in time-honored form to the Abilene Civic Center stage on Wednesday, Jan. 27, at 7:30 p.m. Directed by original lyricist and director Martin Charnin and choreographed by Liza Gennaro, this production of "Annie" will be a brand new incarnation of the iconic original. Featuring book and score by Tony® Award-winners Thomas Meehan, Charles Strouse and Martin Charnin, "Annie" includes such unforgettable songs as "It's the Hard Knock Life," "Easy Street," "I Don't Need Anything But You," plus the eternal anthem of optimism, "Tomorrow." The New York Post described the show as "overflowing! Big, warm-hearted and funny!"
The show is part of the Broadway in Abilene season brought here by the Abilene Cultural Affairs Council and Celebrity Attractions thanks to local sponsorships. Hendrick Health System is the title sponsor of "Annie." Ticket prices start at $30.
