Roscoe falls to J’rabbits to stay winless

October 29, 2011

ROSCOE — The struggles continue for Roscoe’s Plowboys, who saw their record fall to 0-9 after losing to Rawls, 28-7, on Friday.
Roscoe avoided a shutout on a 2-yard run by Eric Padilla with 1:36 left in the game, but by then the Jackrabbits (4-5, 3-1 district) had things well in hand as they clinched a playoff berth in Dist-rict 7-1A, Division II.
But offense has been a problem all year for the Plowboys, who have scored just 55 points and reached double figures in a game just once.
However, Padilla ran for 106 yards on 17 carries to lead Roscoe, which had 157 of its 192 total yards on the ground. The Plowboys completed four of seven passes for 35 yards, and had one of their better defensive efforts as Ralls was held to just under 300 yards offensively. The Jackrabbits scored single touch-downs in all four quarters.
Roscoe’s leading defenders individually were Landon Jones with eight tackles, Eduardo Gallegos with seven, Padilla and Devon Freeman with six and Luke Rovig and Corey Hatcher with four. The Plowboys end their season by traveling to Rotan (1-3 district, 3-6) this Friday.
