Powerlifters medal at regionals

Sweetwater High School sent several boys powerlifters to Sundown earlier this month to compete in the Region I, Division II meet and four of them medaled. They are, front row from left, Jay Lomas, fifth place in the 123-pound weight class; Ryan Linebaugh, second place in the 165-pound weight class; Sam Nemir, first place (regional champion) in the 165-pound weight class; and Mateo Gonzales, fifth place in the 242-pound weight class. By finishing in the top two in their class, Nemir and Linebaugh advance to compete in the state meet this Saturday in Abilene. Also competing for SHS at the regional meet and pictured (from left) are Hunter Johnson, Zack Rosas, Cory Burns, Jose Garcia and Kyle Lambert.
