RPMH provides services through home health department
November is National Home Care Month and Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital Home Health would like to take this opportunity to remind the community about the services provided through its home health department. Rolling Plains Home Health opened in 1985. It proudly serves six counties including Nolan, Fisher, Mitchell, Scurry, Coke and Taylor providing skilled and assistive services that include nursing care, special therapies, personal care and household help. The agency is licensed and certified as well as accredited by The Joint Commission. Medicare covers many home heath care services. Original Medicare (made up of Part A and B) covers certain services if your physician has determined that your needs are medically necessary, that you are homebound and that there is a part-time skilled need. That need may be for nursing care and/or special therapy such as physical, occupational or speech. Medicare Advantage plans are contracted by Medicare to insurance companies. These plans offer at least the same services as Original Medicare, but your out of pocket costs may be different. The enrollment period for Original or Medicare Advantage Plans is currently open until Dec. 7. You may change your plan during this time period. In looking for what best fits your needs, be sure to ask questions about your choices and know what changes have been made. Anyone can go online to Medicare.gov or call toll free to 1-800-Medicare for further information.
Home health care has many advantages such as privacy and restoring independence while in your own home. The main goal is to provide the best recovery possible as quickly and comfortably in your home. Once the home health-care team has established your plan of care with your physician, it is important for communication to be ongoing. This will provide the best outcomes possible and return you to a more independent life style.
In addition to Medicare your home health services could be paid for by Medicaid, private insurances, VA, TriCare, worker's compensation or private pay. To learn more about Rolling Plains Home Health and the services provided, please call 325-235-2030. Director Sherma Barham and her staff will be glad to assist you with your questions and to provide the best services possible.
