Nine earn all-BC honors

Vincent Pantoja of Roscoe, who was named Newcomer of the Year on the Class 1A team

Six players from Black-well and three from Roscoe have received all-Big Coun-try football recognition by the Abilene Reporter-News.
Roscoe freshman linebacker Vincent Pantoja was named Newcomer of the Year on the Class 1A team, with senior defensive lineman Landon Jones on the second team and sophomore quarterback Matthew Davila receiving honorable mention. Pantoja had 92 solo tackles and 44 assisted stops for the Plowboys.
For Blackwell, junior Jayden Jones made the Six-Man second team as a linebacker, and he also received honorable mention as a running back. Blackwell senior Mark Monroe received honorable mention as both a running back and defensive lineman; senior Cody Shamblin received honorable mention at receiver; juniors Ted Chambliss and Mason Magness received honorable mention as def-ensive backs; and sophom-ore Franck Cano received honorable mention on the defensive line.
Jones, Monroe, Magness, Shamblin, Cano and Cham-bliss received all-region honors from the Texas Six-Man Coaches Association.
