New Nolan County program to deliver meals to elderly

Did you know that in 2014, 5.7 million Americans over the age of 60 were considered food insecure? What is the impact on our seniors? With food insecurity comes a greater risk for chronic illnesses such as heart failure, asthma, COPD, and depression. Since the West Central Texas Area Agency on Aging was founded we have strived to continually find new and better ways to meet the needs of our more experienced neighbors. We are excited to announce that Nolan and Mitchell Counties were selected, along with Throckmorton, Stephens, Eastland, and Brown counties, to be a part of a new pilot home delivered meals program designed to help vulnerable seniors remain healthy and secure in their homes as long as possible...
