Despite persistent weather delays, Sweetwater got in 26 plays — 16 on offense and 10 on defense — in its final scrimmage Friday at San Angelo Lake View before play was halted.
The Mustangs produced an impressive 135 yards, 86 of it coming on 6-of-10 passing, with their new spread offense and scored against the Chiefs on a 7-yard run. Another Sweetwater drive reached Lake View’s 4-yard line before coming up short.
Sweetwater will host Eastland this Friday to begin the regular season.
