Maxwell “Mackie” E. Holsey

Funeral services for Maxwell “Mackie” E. Holsey, 45, of Sweetwater, will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 4, 2012, at McCoy Funeral Home. Rev. Ernest Brandon will officiate and interment will follow at Roscoe Cemetery under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home.
Visitation will be Friday, Aug. 3, 2012, from 7-9 p.m. at McCoy Funeral Home.
Holsey died Tuesday, July 31, 2012, at Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital.
He was born Dec. 23, 1966, in Sweetwater. He married Angela Ruth on March 7, 2009, in Snyder. Mackie was a member of the Colorado City Volunteer Fire Department. He loved working with kids, and was a good Christian man, husband and father. Mackie stepped out in faith and gave his testimony and scripture in last Sunday’s church service, July 29, at Kingdom Seekers Tabernacle and was stepping into the role of being a Sunday school teacher. He had previously attended the Mesquite Country Christian Community.
Survivors include his wife, Angela Holsey of Sweetwater; sons, Layton Holsey of Colorado City, Matthew Brazil of Snyder and Robert McGuire of Midland; daughters, Michelle Brazil of Snyder and Shawna Younger of Midland; brothers, Lester Holsey, Jr. and Jackie of Tahoka and Timothy Holsey and wife Heather of Sweetwater; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lester Holsey, Sr. and Carol Jean Holsey, his maternal and paternal grandparents.
Pallbearers will be Lester Holsey, Jr., Timothy Holsey, Joshua Bellavia, Raymond Herrera, Randy Herrera and Maurice “Mo” Martinez.
