City holds second public hearing regarding the proposed annexation at City Hall (shown)

The second public hearing regarding the proposed annexation for property for the incoming Love's Truck Stop was held on Thursday morning, June 14, 2012 during the Sweetwater City Commission meeting at City Hall.
The first meeting was held during the monthly meeting of the city commissioners that occurred on Tuesday morning, June 12. The land is 53.14 acres and is located at the northeast corner of the intersection of Hopkins Road and Interstate 20.
No input was given during the second forum, which now paves the way for initial action to be taken on the matter. Right now, the next appointed time for the commission to meet is Tuesday, July 10, 2012.
The public hearing was then closed, and the commission entered back into regular session.
The final item on the agenda before the meeting adjourned--awarding the construction bid on the water line replacement on Neff Street coordinated with the sewer line improvement project--had already been decided during Tuesday's meeting, as the bid was awarded to Starks Construction Company in Abilene.
