Services for Linn David Taylor, 51, of New Braunfels, will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 3, 2013, at Highland Heights United Methodist Church in Sweetwater with Rev. Don Boren officiating. Interment will follow at the Sweetwater Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home in Sweetwater.
Visitation will be held Friday, Aug. 2, 2013, from 6-8 p.m. at McCoy Funeral Home.
Taylor died on Saturday, July 27, 2013, as a result of a motorcycle accident at University Hospital in San Antonio.
He was born on Aug. 9, 1961, in Abilene. He married Lisa Councilman on Dec. 14, 1984 in Sweetwater.
He grew up in Sweetwater and was a graduate of Sweetwater High School in 1979 and also from Texas State Technical Institute. He was employed by Freescale as a Service Engineer in Austin. He had lived in New Braunfels for the past 15 years, moving there from Dallas. He was an avid motorcyclist.
Survivors include his wife, Lisa Councilman Taylor of New Braunfels; daughter, Callie Taylor of New Braunfels; sons, Cameron Taylor of New Braunfels and Colton Taylor and Brittany of New Braunfels; mother, Peggy O'Neal Armstrong and Jerry of Odessa; father, L.B. Taylor and Martha Sue of Sweetwater; three sisters, Renee Taylor of Ringling, Okla., Annette Haynes and Kyle of Hobbs, N.M., and Melissa Jordan and Kyle of Houston; brother, Mark Taylor of Lubbock; mother-in-law, Estelle Councilman of Sweetwater; sisters and brothers-in-law, Shay Bullard of Sweetwater, Kelle Councilman and Regina of Pflugerville, Randy Councilman and Kelli of Mertzon, Lynette Palafox and Dominic of San Angelo and Ryan Councilman and Gina of San Angelo; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and other loving family members.
Pallbearers will be Kelle Councilman, Randy Councilman, Ryan Councilman, Dominic Palafox, Donny Baker and Robert Doshier. Honorary pallbearer will be Elias Chavez.
