Lady Mustang golfers are 2nd at SW Classic

The Sweetwater girls golf team shot a 693 total this past Friday and Saturday for a second-place finish at the Sweetwater Golf Classic.
Sweetwater, which trailed only Snyder (659) in a field of 13 teams, shot 355-338 at Sweetwater Country Club to beat out third-place Abilene High (726). Sweetwater was led by Elise Lawrence, who shot 89-80-169 to tie for sixth among medalists. Jodie May (88-85-173) was 11th and Alex Gomez (89-85-174) was 12th. Sarah Witt (90-88-178) and Katie High (89-91-180) were the other members. The No. 2 team shot 401-411-812 to finish eighth. while the No. 3 team shot 450-441-891 and was 13th. Leila Rubio, Angela Virgen, Rachel Hunt, Hay-lee Stewart and Christian Richardson were on the No. 2 team and Molly Fincher, Sierra Hernandez, Amy Witt, Caroline Lawrence and Rachel Gray were on the No. 3 team. Michallah McKinney and Tatum Max-well played as medalists.
