JV girls are perfect 20

The Sweetwater JV girls are still unbeaten after top-ping Big Spring, 32-22, here Tuesday to improve to 20-0 this season.
Shaneese Brown had 10 points, Cierra Knox nine and Morgan Whitley eight in Tuesday’s win for Sweet-water, also 6-0 in district. The Lady Mustangs led 6-1, 15-5 and 20-12 at the breaks. Jaya Atkins and Nisha Williams had two and Abby McPherson one.
The freshman girls also won, 25-21, to go 4-2 in district play while improving their season mark to 11-6.
Morgan Rudel led the win by scoring 15 points. Also scoring were Abby Garcia, Alaina Andrews and Payton Moore with three and Ashley Parker with two points.
Marquees Jenkins had 16 points for the JV boys in their game, but Sweetwater (0-12, 0-4) was defeated by Big Spring 52-33.
Mike McCoy, Joe Ruiz and Matthew Trevino had four points, Michael Haz-ard three and Deshaun Wil-liams two for Sweetwater.

Blackwell teams lose games to Paint Rock
Blackwell lost both of its games against Paint Rock in a doubleheader Tuesday.
The girls lost 46-36, while the boys fell 42-4o.
Blackwell’s girls were led by Hailey Bennett (17) and Stephanie Metcalf (15). Bethany Breaux and Brook-lyn Harris had two points.
Blackwell’s boys were on the verge of getting their second district win until being outscored 16-9 in the fourth quarter. Ethan Andrews had 16 in a losing cause while Jayden Jones contributed seven points, Wade Allen and Mason Magness six and Ted Chambliss five. The girls are now 1-9 and the boys 1-7 in district.
