JV athletes compete at Rattlesnake Relays

Sweetwater JV athletes took part in Rattlesnake Relays last week

Sweetwater had a number of JV athletes compete at its Rattlesnake Relays meet this past Thursday.
The JV boys scored 139 points to finish second to San Angelo Central’s 234.
Jonathan Browning won three events as he placed first in the 100 dash (11.16), triple jump (38-5 1/2) and and high jump (6-0), while Deshaun Williams won the long jump (18-8 1/2).
Browning and Williams were also on the Mustangs’ first-place 400 relay (47.16), as were Marquees Jenkins and Austin Kamer.
Browning, Jenkins, Rhett Torres and Kamer were on the second-place 800 relay (1:40.26) and Torres, Brandon Gutierrez, Mark Lawrence and Kamer were on the second-place mile relay (3:59.81). Lawrence was third (58.12) and Quen-tin Wetsel fifth (58.95) in the 400 dash; Stephen May was third (98-7) and Angel Caballero fourth (98-4) in the discus; Andrew Davis was third (36-7) in the shot put; Williams was fourth in the 100 (12.0) and the high jump (5-4); Colton Belew was fifth in the 100 (12.12); Trey Harvey was fifth in the 200 (25.60); and Gutierrez was fourth in the 800 (2:22.84). Isaiah Gonzales (5:49.15) and Adan Sanchez (5:54.42) placed fifth and sixth, respectively, in the mile run. For the JV girls, Rebecca Gonzales placed fifth in the shot (24-1 3/4).
