A memorial service for Jose Manuel Galvan, 53, of Roscoe, will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 2, 2013, at First United Methodist Church in Roscoe with Rev. Juanelle Jordan officiating. He was cremated.
Galvan died Tuesday, January 29, 2013, at Rolling Plains Hospital in Sweetwater.
He was born July 30, 1959 in Corpus Christi. Jose was married to Maria M. Galvan for many years. He was a mechanic and a chef. He loved building and remodeling things and was a carpenter. He built his own motorcycle.
Survivors include his daughters, Christie Galvan of Roscoe, Adriana Verastegui and husband Albert of Japan and Veronica Galvan of Tacoma, WA; son, Joseph Galvan and wife Elizabeth of Sweetwater; mother, Maria L. Galvan of Roscoe; grandchildren, Aaron Jo Verastegui, Aric Verastegui, Alma Verastegui, AV Verastegui, Kinzie Buchanan, Karlie Buchanan, Triston Galvan, Jayton Galvan and Leilani Galvan; sisters, Juanita Garcia and husband Daniel of Roscoe, Gracie Garza and husband Luis of Edinburg, Mari Cornett and husband Benny of Roscoe and Patty Hamilton and husband Lance of Justin; former wife, Maria M. Galvan; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, Catarino Galvan on June 15, 2011.
