The Sweetwater Chamber of Commerce will hold its monthly Chamber Coffee at 10 a.m., Wednesday, September 5 at Hoyt House, located at 1700 Hoyt Avenue.
Hoyt House is owned by Assisted Living Concepts, with Whitney Ashford as the on-site manager.
Hoyt House is an assisted living facility that offers the comforts of home with the added safety and security loved ones need. They provide nutritious meals three times a day, housekeeping and laundry, and now have a full-time RN. They serve Nolan County and have 16 employees.
Not only is the Hoyt House an assisted living, but it is also a home. The residents are like family, as they offer a variety of exercise opportunities, arts and crafts, outings around town, and worship services.
They have remodeled from the inside-out and within. Whitney Ashford is now the Resident Director and Molly Thomas, RN, BSN is Wellness Director.
"We are excited about the changes and the opportunities to serve as part of Nolan County."
The Hoyt House offers modernly-constructed living facilities that range in size from studio to two-bedroom apartments. Housekeeping, laundry and maintenance services are provided to allow residents the chance to entertain, relax or socialize with their neighbors.
A number of fun activities to participate in can be arranged by the Hoyt House, like social outings, holiday celebrations and music and art activities. Raised gardening beds are also on-site to allow "green thumbs" to continue their hobby. Personal interests are considered at the center, giving opportunities for residents to learn and socialize.
At the Hoyt House, 24-hour on-site care is on hand. An emergency call system is available, and the center has an automatic fire alarm notification and sprinkler system along with secured entries.
Easy access is everywhere at the community, as extra-wide corridors with sturdy handrails make it possibly to visit a neighbor or head to the dining room. Apartments are complete with roomy walk-in showers which offer enough space for a walker or wheelchair if necessary.
Assistance is readily available as well--with things like medicine, bathing or dressing through customized plans for residents. The staff at the community continually trains in order to understand residents' preferences while meeting their needs.
Healthy living is also promoted at the Hoyt House. A full-time registered nurse Wellness Director is available on campus along with exercise equipment. The facility will work with residents and their physicians to develop a personalized wellness plan to ensure and protect health. In addition, registered dietitians develop restaurant-like dining for residents to enjoy three healthy meals daily and desserts in moderation.
