Highland in playoff doubleheader today

Highland basketball fans will get a double treat today as both of its teams have Class 1A, Division II playoff games that will be held at Ballinger High School.
Highland’s girls begin the doubleheader by taking on Water Valley at 6:30 p.m. in a regional quarterfinal. Highland advanced by beating Zephyr 48-29 in its area playoff this past Friday. Sierra Allen had 16 points and Hannah Allen 11 to pace the 13-A, Division II champion Lady Hornets, who had a first-round bye.
Highland is 28-4 for the season, while Water Valley, the runnerup in 14-A, Division II, is 25-5 overall.
In today’s second game, the Highland boys — who qualified for the playoffs as the No. 2 team in 13-A, Division II — take on Rob-ert Lee (third place in 14-A, Division II) in a bi-district matchup at 8 p.m.
Highland is 15-14 overall this season while Robert Lee comes in at 16-8. High-land tied Hermleigh for second place in 13-A but won a tiebreaker 42-36 on Friday.
