Masonic graveside services for Harvey A. Nash, 101, of Sweetwater, will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 9, 2013, at Garden of Memories Cemetery in Sweetwater. Members from Sweetwater Masonic Lodge #571 will officiate with interment to follow under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home.
Nash died Thursday, Feb. 7, 2013 at Sweetwater Healthcare Center.
He was born Dec. 9, 1911, in Oakdale, Louisiana. He married Frances Duke on Aug. 26, 1943, in De Leon, Texas. Harvey was a member of First United Methodist Church. He was also a member of Sweetwater Masonic Lodge #571 where he served as chaplain for several years. He worked several years with the Boy Scouts of America and the Little League organization in Sweetwater. Harvey came to Sweetwater from Van Horn in 1954. He also served as Justice of the Peace in Van Horn. Harvey worked for Texas & Pacific Railroad for 45 years as a signal engineer before retiring.
Survivors include his sons, James A. Nash and wife Rae Ann of Midland and J. Paul Nash and wife Sharon Ann of Sweetwater; brother, Ben Nash of Texarkana; six grandchildren, Cressinda, Rebecca, Raegan, Joshua, Hillary and Mark; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances on Aug. 4, 2010; and also three brothers; and five sisters.
Pallbearers will be members for Sweetwater Masonic Lodge #571.
The family ask in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Pioneer Museum, 610 East Third St, Sweetwater, TX 79556.
