The Sweetwater-Nolan County Health Department (SNCHD) will conduct a free flu clinic on Tuesday, Feb. 20. The clinic will be from 8:30 until 11:30 & 1-4:30 or until vaccine is depleted. The health department is located at 301 E. 12th Street. Available vaccine will be for ages 4 & up and there is a minimum amount of high dose for age 65 & older.
All persons not already vaccinated this season are eligible for this vaccine which has been provided by the Department State Human Services (DSHS) for emergency use due to rampant flu in our area and surrounding areas.
The peak months for influenza are usually March and April. We saw it hit early this year, but that doesn’t mean it won’t continue to be a problem throughout April. If you have not received a flu vaccination for the 2017-18 flu season, please take this chance to get protected from the flu.
Flu prevention kits, which includes mask, kleenex, sanitizer and tips how to prevent the flu are available at the health department free to anyone as long as supplies last. For questions regarding this article, call health department at 235-5463.
