Fatal Crash

One person was killed in a one vehicle crash occurring in Callahan County on Tuesday, May 1 at 9:04 p.m., four and a half miles east of Putnam, Texas, on FM 2945. Mark Wade Bowles, 54, of Cisco, Texas, was driving a 2007 Chevrolet pickup westbound on FM 2945 in Callahan County. The vehicle left the roadway to the right, the driver overcorrected to the left and the vehicle overturned several times, ejecting the driver. The seat belt was buckled.
Bowles was pronounced dead at the scene by Judge Burlie Taylor at 10:48 p.m. The body was taken to Kimbrough Funeral Home in Cisco, Texas. Next of kin have been notified. The weather was clear and the roadway was dry. This crash is being investigated by Trooper Pechacek.
