Eva Crouch Rainey, 93, passed away on Sunday, April 28, 2013 in Sweetwater.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, April 30, at Garden of Memories with Rev. Keith Clifton officiating. Visitation will be held Monday, April 29, from 6-7:30 p.m. at McCoy Funeral Home. Services will be under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home.
Eva was born Nov. 13, 1919, in Bowie County, Texas to the late Ira Atlee Crouch and Millie Mae Sanford Crouch. Eva married Dee Rainey on Dec. 24, 1937, in DeKalb, Texas. Dee preceded her in death on Feb. 4, 1971. Eva and Dee moved to Sweetwater in 1952 and in 1959 started the family business, T&R Oilfield Construction Company, which is still owned and operated by some of her children and grandchildren. Eva was a homemaker who loved taking care of her family and tending to her garden and flowers. Eva was a longtime member of the Lamar Street Baptist Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Lona Kinney and husband B.D. of Sweetwater and Jackie Hampton and husband Mark of Sweetwater; two sons, L.W. Rainey and wife Barbara of Sweetwater and Rock Rainey and wife Karen of Sweetwater; one brother, C.L. Crouch and wife Bernice of Avery, Texas; eight grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; brothers, Harvey Crouch and Jack Crouch; sister, Ruby Crouch; son, Reece Rainey; and grandsons, Kinney Renfro and James Rainey.
Pallbearers will her grandsons, Ronnie Rainey, Aaron Rainey, Aric Rainey, R.D. Rainey, Chris Shifflett, B.D. Rainey and Atlee Rainey.
The family request in lieu of flowers donations be made to Hendrick Hospice Care or Nolan Nursing and Rehabilitation Center Activities Fund.
