A campus report on East Ridge Elementary was given during Thursday night's SISD (Sweetwater Independent School District) Board of Trustees' meeting. Principal Vicki Mayberry was accompanied by several students who discussed various programs used by the second and third graders on campus.
Joseph Milner and Kialyn Walton, both second graders, began the presentation with Imagine Learning lab, a utilized station which deals with fluency, reading and comprehension.
Second graders Zain Jackson and Bethanee Rodriquez, joined by Mayberry, discussed the SOI/Bridges Lab. In the lab, eyes are screened to see how they move and work together through different exercises.
Third graders Haylee Gartrell and Claire Paty informed the board about Balanced Literacy, where writing and reading assignments give students an opportunity to express themselves.
Brycen Horn concluded the report by explaining about "STAAR students," the after-school tutoring program at East Ridge.
