D’backs celebrate after District 5 win

Sweetwater’s Major League D’backs are celebrating after defeating the Snyder Braves 9-7 at their District 5 tournament this week. The team also beat the Jim Ned Rangers in their next game to reach the quarterfinals before losing to Abilene Dixie’s Mets, 5-4, at Abilene Northern on Thursday.
Shown is Sweetwater’s Kobe Clark being congratulated after a home run. Despite losing to Dixie, the D’backs are in the tournament semifinals after being chosen as the Major League’s wild card team. They will play again against Wylie’s Rangers at 8 p.m. today at Abilene Northern.
The championship game will be played at 7 p.m. Saturday at Abilene Northern. In today’s other semifinal, Abilene Dixie plays at 6 p.m. at Abilene Northern against the Wylie Phillies.
