The county commissioners approved two appointments to the County-City Library Board during their meeting held on Monday morning, December 10, 2012 at the Nolan County Courthouse.
Cherry Green of Blackwell and Brenda Stirl of Roscoe will be replacing Ame Monroe and the late Charles Roberson, respectively, on the board.
In addition, several bonds were approved during the meeting for county personnel.
They included a bond totaling $3,000 for Precinct 1 Commissioner Terry Willman, a $3,000 bond for Precinct 3 Commissioner Tommy White, a $5,000 bond for County Auditor Judy Kasper, a $15,000 bond for Nolan County Sheriff David Warren, and two bonds for Kathy Bowen, the County Tax Collector.
The commissioners also gave approval for Constable Will Lenoir to purchase uniforms, using the available funds from his communications line item. They additionally approved to leave the burn ban in effect for the next two weeks or until their next meeting, as well as the minutes from the November 26 meeting.
Furthermore, the statement of financial position and the fourth quarterly report for the 2012 fiscal year for the 32nd Judicial District Community Supervision and Corrections was received and filed with the commissioners' court.
Also received were various reports from department heads; among them were the Nolan County Treasurer, Clerk and the Government Trapper.
And during the public comment portion of the meeting, the commissioners were asked by Grant Madden, the Sweetwater Fire Chief, about the speed limit on Bradford Lane and if signs were present in the area. Some concerns were risen following construction trucks being spotted going fast down the road.
