Funeral services for Cleo Parrott, 100, of Roscoe, will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, March 3, 2011, at First Baptist Church of Roscoe with Rev. Adam Davis officiating. Interment will follow at Roscoe Cemetery under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home.
A visitation will be held from 5:30-7 p.m. on Wednesday, March 2, 1011, at McCoy Funeral Home in Sweetwater.
Parrott died Monday, Feb. 28, 2011, at Sweetwater Healthcare Center in Sweetwater.
Cleo was born Dec. 5, 1910, in Princeton, Texas to Charley and Valley Younse. She married Ernest Parrott on Jan. 19, 1929, in Haskell, Texas and they celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary in 1984. Cleo was a member of First Baptist Church in Roscoe. She was always involved in some type of handcraft including quilting, flower arranging, ceramics, knitting, crocheting, dressing dolls and making beaded Christmas decorations. She also loved having parties and decorating her home for Christmas.
Survivors include her children, Henry Don and Peggy Parrott and Ernestine and Doyle Edmiston of Roscoe; five grandchildren, Georgia and Doug Dippel, Katie and Bryan Heaps, James and Elisa Parrott, Danny and Stefanie Parrott and Melissa and Quincy Parrott; 13 great-grandchildren, Braxton, Alexa, Julia, Zachary, Luke, Jessica, Cannon, Allison, Dayton, Danica, Madison, Dawson and Jake; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Ronnie Williams, Scott McGrew, Stacey McGrew, Oren McGrew, Benny Harris and Charles Summers.
