The Sweetwater Police Department (SPD) received 55 calls for service, issued two citations and made one arrest on Aug. 16, 2012.
The SPD received 27, 911 calls.
Calls for service:
• Criminal mischief — 900 block of Lamar.
• Criminal mischief — 400 block of Robert Lee.
• Theft — 900 block of Circle Drive.
Arrested by SPD:
• Rene Villa, 40 — Driving while intoxicated.
The Nolan County Sheriff's Office (NCSO) had 11 calls for service, served no civil papers and made two arrests on Aug. 16, 2012.
Arrested by DPS:
• Juan Christian Gomez, 30, of El Paso — Driving while license invalid with previous conviction or suspension & fail to identify giving false/ficticious information.
• Alma Rosa Torres, 46, of Sweetwater — Sweetwater Municipal Court warrant/driving while license invalid.
Calls for service:
• Grass fire — HWY 84.
• Burglary — FM 1544.
• Theft — I-20.
• Traffic hazard — I-20 W of MM 230 E/B.
• Reckless driver — I-20 MM 259.
• MHMR transport — W New Mexico Ave.
