Gerald D. Bales

Gerald D. Bales went missing from approximately 1/2 mile E. of FM-1170 on CR-181, SE of Maryneal, Texas. The person’s home address is listed as 1565 N. Business 35, New Braunfels, TX 78130.
Bales has taken prescription medications and may be taking Zoloft and/or other anti-depression type medications currently.
Bales normally resides in the New Braunfels, TX area and was in Nolan County conducting business for a New Braunfels attorney on a ranch in far western Nolan County.
Bales apparently abandoned the pick-up he was driving sometime during the night of Tuesday night/Wednesday morning on CR-181, approximately 1/2 mile E. of FM-1170. The pick-up was a 1999 GMC (2500) 1/2 ton, pewter in color, single cab, long-wide bed model. There were cigarettes and a cell phone in the pick-up. The door was found open on the pick-up and keys were not in the vehicle. Bales may have walked east away from the pick-up around 4 a.m. on Wednesday.
Just before the press run on Thursday, Sept. 15, Nolan County Sheriff David Warren reported that Bales was found alive. "He was disoriented when we found him, but he is alive and physically well. He is being very cooperative and we are currently getting him medical attention."
Sheriff Warren stated that Bales was found at a ranch west of Highway 70 and south of CR 236.
