APPLAUSE to celebrate Western Heritage

Sweetwater Municipal Auditorium’s APPLAUSE Series will host its’ annual Western Heritage Event Saturday, November 7. The Art Show will be opened at 6 pm and the Concert will begin at 7:30 pm at SMA, 400 Locust Street in Sweetwater.
The Almost Patsy Cline Band will be featured on the concert. They are on the Texas Commission on the Arts Touring Artists Roster. Partial funding for their appearance has been provided by a grant from Texas Commission on the Arts and rural initiative grant funding from National Endowment for the Arts. With singers who sound like Patsy Cline, Kitty Wells and Johnny Cash, they will perform timeless tunes in the “old country style”.
The Art Show will be provided by Western painter Jack Sorenson from Canyon, Texas. Born and raised by the rim of the Palo Duro Canyon, Sorenson has had a successful painting career that reflects his heritage.
Corporate Event Sponsor is Texas National Bank. Individual Event Sponsors are Dr. Bud and Sherie Alldredge. Event Co-sponsor for the concert is Big Country Electric Cooperative. Art Show Sponsor is Nolan County Coliseum. Season Underwriter is Robert S. Williams in memory of Bettie S. Patton. Sweetwater and Nolan County Chamber of Commerce is providing artists’ lodging. Media Sponsors are Sweetwater Reporter, Nexstar Broadcasting and KXOX.
