Kentucky went about business as usual. They beat an in conference foe thoroughly as they should. Karl Anthony towns had 13 points and 9 rebounds as they Wildcats finished their first undefeated regular season in program history.

SW wins 3 in one day

While the weather forced them to wait two extra days to begin play at their annual Wes Bishop Wood Bat Clas-sic, Saturday paid off big for Sweetwater’s baseball team. Playing Pampa, Ballinger and San Angelo Lake View in one day at their event — over a 10-hour period — was by far the most game action the team had seen in a nearly two-week period since its scheduled opener.

Sweetwater reached the finals of Big Spring’s softball tournament before los-ing to Abilene Wylie, 9-6, in Saturday’s Silver Bracket championship game.

Friday’s revised schedule was cancelled at the Wes Bishop Wood Bat Classic when the Sportsman’s Park field remained unplayable due to effects of the area’s recent snowstorm.

Here is the revised sched-ule for the Wes Bishop Wood Bat Classic at Sportsman’s Park that starts today with Sweetwater playing a total of four games over two days. Thursday’s games were can-celled due to bad weather.
Noon — San Angelo Lake View vs. Ballinger
2 p.m. — Pampa vs. San Angelo Lake View
4 p.m. — Sweetwater vs. Pampa
6 p.m. — Sweetwater vs. Lubbock Christian
8 p.m. — Lubbock Chris-tian vs. Ballinger
10:30 a.m. — Lubbock Christian vs. San Angelo Lake View
1 p.m. — Pampa vs. Bal-linger
3:30 p.m. — Sweetwa-ter vs. San Angelo Lake View

Weather cancels first day of WBC tournament

The latest bout of ice and snow has pushed the start of Sweetwater’s Wes Bishop Wood Bat Classic baseball tournament back to Friday, and Sweetwater’s JV baseball teams also had the start of their respective tournaments in Abilene and Hamlin moved to Friday, head baseball coach Roland Herrera said this morning.
