But you can bet they will both take their non-district game at Mustang Bowl very seriously, and the host team will be trying to go 4-0 for the first time since 2005.

Sweetwater and Snyder, who meet here in a non-district game at 7:30 p.m. Friday, have built one of the most heated rivalries in Texas since they first met on a football field in 1925. And it ramped up even more when both were fighting for supremacy as members of the same district — which has been the case for all but four of the past 20 years.

Lady ‘Stangs go the distance to beat Miles

After a big 25-10 win in Game 1, the Sweetwater volleyball team suddenly ran into trouble in its non-dis-trict match against Miles here Tuesday. But all was well at the end as Sweetwa-ter outlasted the visitors in a five-game thriller, winning 25-10, 23-25, 20-25, 25-23, 15-12 in a match that took two hours to finish.
Sweetwater (14-8) excee-ded its 2013 win total with the victory, which wasn’t secured until Kensi Chown-ing collected her 23rd kill in Game 5 to end the match
