Holcomb was also sworn into office by Andrews, who serves as the vice-chairman of the board.
The Sweetwater Police Department (SPD) is conducting an investigation to determine why three kittens were recently placed in a dumpster.
On April 6, the local police department was called to the 1600 block of Bristol, where three kittens were found inside a plastic sack in the dumpster located in the alley.

The Nolan County Coliseum will host two events this weekend, the West Texas Barrel Racing Association 2015 Curtis Barnett Memorial Barrel Race onÂ Saturday, March 30 and Sunday, March 31, in the outdoor arena â€” and 40 Plus Team Roping Championships on Saturday, May 30 in the back covered arena.

Seven students in the Gifted and Talented program at Sweetwater Intermediate School competed in the Destination Imagination competition. The competition has five categories and the students pick one to compete in. This team, called The Stone Agers, chose the scientific category called "making waves," in which they must create a sound machine that produces two different sounds along with two visible displays.

Roscoe Collegiate has an-nounced its plans to hold a girls and boys basketball Summer Shootout, with the dates set for June 11-12. All games will be at the Roscoe Collegiate high school and middle school gyms.
