Sweetwater Rotary Club sponsors high school student participation in leadership camp

The Sweetwater Rotary Club is sponsoring four students from Sweetwater High School to join 100 other Rotary Youth Leadership Award (RYLA) recipients to participate in RYLA Leadership Camp in Levelland, Texas.

Library bids farewell to longtime employee

A farewell reception in honor of longtime library employee Eloisa Hernandez took place on Friday with many in attendance. Hernandez had been with the County-City Library for eight years.

DPS increasing DWI patrols for July 4th holiday

AUSTIN – The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) will increase DWI patrols for a 12-day period that includes the July 4th holiday. From June 26 – July 7, DPS troopers will focus DWI patrols in high-risk locations at times when alcohol-related crashes are most frequent.

Lady Mustang softball campers

Twenty girls participated this past week in a Lady Mustang Softball Camp held at the Jerry Collins Complex. Local sports camps schedule

June 26, 2015

The Mustang Football Camp will be July 21-23 at Mustang Bowl from 8-11 a.m. for students entering grades 3-9. The cost is $30. All campers will receive individual instruction from members of the Mustang coaching staff. The camp will emphasize skills and drills and will also have both punt, pass and kick instruction and competitions. There will also be refreshments, T-shirts and certificates. Lady Mustangs honored with resolution

June 26, 2015

The 2015 Sweetwater High School softball team was recently honored by Sweetwater ISD trustees with a resolution at their meeting. The resolution said the Lady Mustangs "have brought honor, pride, and distinction" to both the city and the Sweetwater ISD during the past season and "have excelled in performance" by winning the bi-district championship and "competing admirably" in the area playoffs against Fort Stockton.
