Driving simulation continues with heavy equipment operators

Last week, deputies with the Nolan County Sheriff's Office (NCSO) got their crash course in Don Courtney's driving simulator. On Tuesday, it was county employees charged with driving large trucks and rigs who received their training in a simulated environment.

S’water gets an easy win

October 8, 2014

After an easy home win on Tuesday, now comes the big road test this Saturday for Sweetwater.
The Lady Mustangs took care of business by defeat-ing Lubbock Estacado 3-0 at the SHS gym. The Lady Mustangs beat the Lady Matadors by scores of 25-10, 25-21 and 25-14 to go 3-1 in district play; Estacado fell to 0-4.

JV team remains on a roll

Sweetwater High School’s JV team routed Lubbock Estacado 25-7, 25-6 in sub-varsity volleyball action here Tuesday, as Coach Al Miller’s Lady Mustangs improved to 4-0 in district play.

Local events for Wednesday

The immunization clinic at the Sweetwater-Nolan County Health Department for today, October 8, has been cancelled. The next immunization clinic will be on Wednesday, October 15.
And tonight, Fields of Faith will be held in the Mustang Bowl. Doors will open up at 6:30 p.m., with hotdogs and drinks available free of charge.
The event will officially start at 7 p.m. There will be worship, (led by One Less Stone), testimonies from students at schools in the Nolan county area, a message from an FCA pastor and a time of prayer for everyone who is there.

Many attend Broadway Lights dinner, show

The Applause Music Series kicked off in Sweetwater on Saturday night, with a dinner at the Sweetwater Country Club held before the Broadway Lights production at the Sweetwater Municipal Auditorium. Many guests attended the dinner, which included floral arrangements donated by Gene Fox of Sweetwater Floral.

Bealls recently opened their Estee Lauder/Clinique counters with a ribbon cutting. Many attended the event, which included giveaways of sample bags and free makeup samples.
