Fifty-four Sweetwater High School students made the A-Honor Roll in the fourth six weeks of the 2014-2015 school year and Texas National Bank continued with its commitment to recognize and award one lucky scholar from each grade with $50. The winners of the Texas National Bank Good Grades Pay Award for the fourth six seeks of the 2014-2015 school year were Jacob Coppedge (9th Grade), Lichen Zhang (10th Grade), Mikeilah Foust (11th Grade) and Colin Dunn (12th Grade).

Agriculture Commissioner Sid Miller honored Leah Warren, a senior at Sweetwater High School as the winner of the Texas Department of Agricultureâs monthly GROW award. The award Gives Recognition for Outstanding Work to middle and high school students who demonstrate leadership and excellence inside and outside the classroom.

The Sweetwater High School baseball team will begin District 2-4A action at 7 p.m. Tuesday when it entertains Levelland. SNYDER â Rather than hosting its district opener at Jerry Collins Complex, the Sweetwater softball team changed plans Friday because its field was too wet and went to Snyder instead because its playing surface was in better condition.

Sweetwater is planning to hold a first-ever Lady Mustang Co-ed Volleyball Tournament on Friday and Saturday, April 17-18, at both Sweetwater High School gyms. The cost will be $60 per team. The teams will consist of four to six players, with at least two of them playing at all times and a maximum of eight players. All players must be on the roster to be eligible.

Roscoeâs Juan Solis won the junior varsity boys divisionâs 400-meter dash with a time of 1:01.17 at a recent track meet in Hamlin.

The Women's Forum in Sweetwater is getting ready for the annual Library Tag Day, which will take place on Wednesday, April 1. The initiative raises money for the County-City library for current and future programs.
The Woman's Forum was formed in 1950 by Mrs. Ione Dulaney Perry to create interest and support for a movement to build a public library for Nolan County. Various Nolan County clubs were asked to be Forum club members and individual memberships were also accepted, which is true of membership today.
