The Sweetwater Police Department (SPD) received 40 calls for service, issued no citations and made seven arrests on Nov. 1, 2012.
The SPD received 19, 911 calls.

The Nolan County United Way (NCUW) is committed to serving local entities with a yearly campaign. This year's focus is "Give Where You Live".
The NCUW is a local organization that runs solely on pledges, led by a board of volunteers throughout the community who desire to impact the caring power of the community. Wendy Smartt serves as the group's Executive Director.
Donors to the Nolan County United Way can give a one-time donation through a payroll deduction or a quarterly basis, which allows the organization to impact thousands within the community through the nine agencies supported.
Most people in their early 20s are still trying to figure out their plans for life, but at 24 years old, one Sweetwater High School alumni seems to have it successfully figured out.
Adrian Solano, a 2006 graduate of SHS, became the general manager at the local Hampton Inn a little over six months ago. In the span of two-and-a-half years, Solano has gone from front desk clerk to the top spot of the Sweetwater branch, also serving as front office manager, director of sales and assistant general manager in between that time.
For many people dealing with hardships, sometimes it's nice to find people to join with as they overcome their obstacles. And fortunately, Sweetwater will have one more place for people to gather.
"Celebrate Recovery" will be offered at Emmanuel Fellowship Church (EFC), located at 1418 Hailey in Sweetwater, every Tuesday evening from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
Emmanuel Fellowship Church will be in an alternate worship location for the next two Sundays.Â As they finish construction on their expansion project, the church will meet for worship Nov. 4 and Nov. 11 at the City Auditorium at 11 a.m.Â
The West Texas Rehabilitation Centerâ€™s Round-Up for Rehab events in Sweetwater this week were a huge success as the largest amount ever was raised during the two events. The Shrimp Peel and Auction on Tuesday combined with the sale at on Wednesday at Sweetwater Cattle Auction this year raised $62,260 according to Dan Huggins, Director of Donor Relations at the West Texas Rehab Center. Last yearâ€™s record total of $33,000 dollars was almost doubled. Huggins said, â€œWow, we are in awe of the amount raised by our great friends in the Sweetwater area.
The eighteenth annual Diabetes Texas Style workshop will be Saturday, Nov. 3, in the Shelton Building, 2000 Pine Street, Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene. Registration and exhibits open at 8 a.m. and the workshop concludes at 11:45 a.m.
Success is being seen at Sweetwater ISD in the choral department, as several choir students from Sweetwater Middle School (SMS) and Sweetwater High School (SHS) students recently made the TMEA (Texas Music Educators Association) South Zone Honor Choir.
The students auditioned on Saturday, October 20 in Abilene for coveted seats in the choir, in which several SHS choir students helped with the audition. The choir is composed of 7th, 8th, & 9th grade students from throughout the Big Country area.
