FSA accepting applications for emergency farm loans

The Farm Service Agency (FSA) is now accepting applications for Emergency Farm Loans resulting from damages and losses caused by drought Feb. 17, 2015 and continuing.

Students honored by SISD

Sweetwater High School student Leah Warren (center) was recognized Monday at the SISD board of trustees meeting. Warren received the GROW (Gives Recognition for Outstanding Work) award.
The Sweetwater High School Texas Math and Science Coaches Association (TMSCA) students were also honored with a resolution marking their achievements.

Roscoe receives reprimand from TCEQ

The city of Roscoe, according to a press release from the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ), failed to collect and submit the required number of bacteriological samples in January.

Sweetwater’s last three victories, and four of the last five, have been by three runs or less — including an 8-5 win at Lubbock Estaca-do on Tuesday.

Maryneal crossing bridge now operational

April 22, 2015

August 15, 2014 was not a good day for Larry Locke, Owner/Operator of Logistic Support on the Texas and Oklahoma Railroad (TXOR). This was the day one of the 18 rail crossing bridges they cross on their way to Maryneal burnt to the ground during a wildfire.
