Watercolor class takes place at County-City Library

A watercolor class has been taking place at the County-City Library this week for children ages 7-13, taught by Carolyn Walker. Walker has taught art for many years in public schools, workshops and in her private studio.

Figueroa records 1st hole in one

Pete Figueroa made his first hole in one ever this past Thursday while playing at Sweetwater Country Club.
Figueroa was using a 7-iron when he aced the No. 2 hole that measured 158 yards. Witnessing the feat were (only first names given) Jack, Tere, Lyndi, Penny, Mike, Grant and Dwalt.

Wind power creates 30,000 Texas jobs, generates $85 million in taxes

The boom in West Texas wind-powered electricity generation has delivered a major economic boost to the region, including creation of over 40 new businesses and 30,000 construction jobs in 57 West Texas counties since 2001, according to data collected by Public Citizen’s Texas office.

Teen book club begins

The County-City Library’s teen book club had their first meeting of the summer on Monday. The club chose to read “Paper Towns,” by John Green.

Road bore crossing agreement discussed at county meeting

June 9, 2015

The Nolan County Commissioners met Monday morning at the Nolan County Courthouse, in which discussion was held on a road bore crossing agreement with Brad French.
A representative for French was in attendance at the meeting, who noted that a natural gas pipeline--which would begin east of Midland and run all the way to Mont Belvieu, which is located east of Houston--would have between 10 to 12 crossings in Nolan County.
