Betty was born April 18, 1930 in Jefferson County near Addington, Okla. to Betsy (McDaniel) and Irving Davis.

Leafy Sue McClure, 84 of Odessa, joined her Savior, Thursday, July 31, 2014.
Sue was born June 2, 1930 to J.F. and Ruby Turner in Sweetwater, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her parents, J. F. "Dick" and Ruby Turner; and brothers, Jesse Turner, Robert "Bob" Turner and Ray Turner.

When first diagnosed with cancer, he was asked by his physician whether he wanted to fight it or not and his response was his favorite quote: “Let us march forth in that high Roman fashion and make Death proud to take us.”
And that he did.

Donnie Guelker

Donnie Guelker, age, 77, of Colorado City, died Friday morning in a local hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. on Sunday in the New Life Ministries Church with Revs. James Williams and James McCormick officiating. Burial will follow in the Colorado City Cemetery under the care and direction of Kiker-Seale Funeral Home.
Donnie was born Dec. 29, 1936, in Hermleigh to Wilbur and Stella Cantwell Laurens and had been a lifelong resident of Mitchell and Nolan counties. She was a waitress for many years and a member of the New Life Ministries Church in Colorado City.

Michal Childress, age 68, a resident of the Colorado Springs area since 1996 and formerly of Woodland Park, Colorado, Central Texas and New Mexico passed away unexpectedly on Friday, July 25, 2014 at her home in Colorado Springs. She was a homemaker, mother, sister, grandmother and friend.
Michal Edna Childress was born on February 1, 1946 in Portales, New Mexico to the late Alvin and Edna (Dawkins) Childress. She attended Newman High School in Sweetwater, Texas and attended Santa Monica Community College where she received her Associates Degree in Accounting.

Nancy McGinley

Nancy McGinley passed peacefully in her sleep on July 17, 2014 in Austin, Texas. She was born Nancy Sue Neeper on Feb. 8, 1933. Nancy, one of nine children, grew up on her father's cotton farm north of Sweetwater in Fisher County. She graduated high school and married Jack McGinley in December of 1950. They had four children, traveled and loved each other until Jack's demise in 2004.

Funeral services for Bessie Stephens, 77, of Roby, will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 26, 2014 at First Baptist Church Roby. Kerry Peacock will officiate and interment will follow at Roby Cemetery under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home.
Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Friday, July 25, 2014 at McCoy Funeral Home.
Stephens died Wednesday, July 23, 2014 at her residence.
She was born July 24, 1936 in Sylvester, Texas.

Forrest James Sims

A memorial service will be given for Forrest James Sims at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (corner of 10th and Elm) at 5 p.m. on Saturday, August 2nd.
Sims passed away Wednesday July 23, 2014, at the Abilene Regional Medical Center and was buried July 26, 2014 in the Sweetwater Cemetery.

Josephine Arnold

Heaven welcomed Josephine Arnold on Sunday, July 20, 2014. She passed away at Odessa Regional Medical Center.
She was born August 8, 1923 in Hamilton, MO to Vera and Lloyd Roberts. She had spent most of her life in Odessa, moving here in 1952. She worked as a bookkeeper for Rhodes Welding & Co. She loved spending time with family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband, C. E. Arnold in December 1993.

Weldon Pat Oden

Weldon Pat Oden, 71, of Blackwell, passed away suddenly on Sunday, July 20, 2014 doing what he loved to do — fly his airplane. He did not survive when his plane went down over family property outside of Blackwell known to family and friends as ‘The West Place’. The specific crash site was within 20 yards of the location his parents starting their first homestead together on this property during the Great Depression.
